Elena Agostinis has made art for as long as she can remember. Trained as a graphic designer, her work now covers many disciplines: Drawing/Illustration, Painting, Sculpture, Installations, Photography and Jewelry Design. She uses mostly non-precious materials and found objects in her work. This trait is directly traceable to her South African roots, where ‘making-do’ is something of a national mantra. She uses regular house paint in her paintings and sculptures and prefers to paint with her hands instead of with brushes.

"The object isn't to make art, its to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable"
- Robert Henri
